Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the backbone of the Montgomery County Women's Center, helping to provide survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault of Montgomery, Liberty, and North Harris counties with the services they need to rebuild their lives. There are a variety of ways that you can help using your talents and skills. MCWC also has trainings that will prepare you to take on any volunteer area of interest.

- Administrative Volunteers provide clerical support to MCWC staff such as filing, organizing, data entry, answering phones and other office duties.
- Child Care/Activities Volunteers provide two basic needs: they assist shelter staff at special events such as baseball games, circus, movies, etc. and/or provide childcare to clients' children at a shelter or other needed locations.
- Legal Accompaniment Volunteers (LAV) provide accompaniment within the criminal justice system for clients.
- Personal Accompaniment Volunteers (PAV) provide accompaniment to hospitals and/or law enforcement agency for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
- Rags to Riches Resale Shop Volunteers assist store manager and assistant managers at the resale shop and/or warehouse through a variety of duties.
- Shelter Assistant Volunteers provide crisis intervention and assistance to residents of shelter and assist the shelter staff with a variety of tasks.
- Special Events Volunteers assists in special events such as fundraisers and bulk mailings throughout the year.
- Telephone Advocate Volunteers (TAV) answer the crisis hotline and provide crisis intervention to survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault as well as make referrals to other agencies when appropriate.
- Board Committee Volunteers serve on a variety of board committees such as budget and finance, by laws, marketing, volunteer, personnel, resource development, scholarship, nominating, program, strategic planning, Reaching Pines, and Winefest.
The Montgomery County Women's Center values the commitment and support throughout this community. We know the importance of volunteers in providing help to our clients. Group Opportunities
MCWC has a variety of opportunities for groups of all ages to get involved and all are welcomed to assist the agency. Please call Linda Hardwick at (281) 292-4155 ext. 277 to learn about the specific needs of the agency at the time your group would like to be involved. Our needs are ever-changing and your interest in assisting us is very much appreciated.
With the different skills and talents that can be offered, we don't want to limit the possibilities. If you have a project or would like to help in some specific way please give me a call to discuss. We are always open to new ideas!
